HRH Princess Dana Firas, President of  ICOMOS Jordan, and Architect Nidal Jarrar,  one of a founding member of the Wikimedia Levant  Group, signed the presence of Mervat Salman from the Wikimedia Foundation, and Mr. Abbad Diraniya from the Wikimedia Levant, on Monday, April 5 April 2021 Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between them aims to enhance and increase Arabic content on Jordanian heritage topics of both tangible and intangible  on the Internet

Her Highness Princess Dana Firas stressed the importance of activating the role of youth and involving them in the activities of the Council related to their interests and fields of studies in a way that suits technological progress and the current circumstances of holding workshops remotely. Her Highness also referred to the role of the current members of the Council from the category of Emerging Professionals who are under 30 years old, in Enriching Arabic content in relation to Jordanian heritage sites.

Her Highness also explained the need to pay attention to the quality of the content and the reliability of the information included in Wikipedia articles.

For his part, Arch. Nidal Jarrar presented work proposals that clarify the mechanism for implementing the programs emanating from the memorandum of understanding, and also touched on the criteria for the quality of articles on the Wikipedia Encyclopedia.

Eng. Mervat also touched on the importance of documentation, especially in war-affected areas, while Mr. Abbad indicated that there is an experience of the Wikimedia Group in the Levant in cooperation with professional photographers for the purpose of documenting heritage in Jordan.
