ICOMOS-Jordan

ICOMOS-Jordan is a non-profit, non-governmental organization.

The Jordan National Committee of ICOMOS (ICOMOS-Jordan), is part of the worldwide ICOMOS network of people, institutions, government agencies, and private corporations who support the conservation of the world’s heritage. 

The International Council on Monuments and Sites-Jordan (ICOMOS-Jordan) officially launched its activities on Thursday evening (20, June 2019) with more than 100 participant from the heritage sector in Jordan who joined our celebration at the Jordan Museum in Amman. The event was honored with prominent guests including; ICOMOS-Jordan President H.R.H. Princess Dana Firas, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities H.E. Majd Shweikeh, Director General of the Department of Antiquities Yazeed Elayyan, and many other distinguished members of the Jordanian heritage community. The event also included a well-attended press conference.

ICOMOS-Jordan was officially approved by ICOMOS International Secretariat, an event that was celebrated in a reception attended by with Professor Toshiyuki Kono, President of the ICOMOS, on Thursday, 04/18/2019.
